My fabulous new school shoes.

I just thought I'd share with you all my super duper cute school shoes I just got today! :) If you want to look them up they are known as the Born 'Jerrica' Flat.

My shoes look exactly like this except they have black laces instead of these black, silver ones.

It's been a while...

Sorry folks that it's been a while since I've updated my blog! I've been so busy with my immediate family visiting and yesterday afternoon I returned from a 3-day pioneer trek with my church. I returned with a super painful sunburn! It hurts so bad. #palepeopleproblems
Anyways, I just wanted to share some pictures of a few things I've been doing to keep myself busy this summer! I volunteer just about every saturday at an animal shelter! I do this to get my community service hours in for high school, but I love volunteering there anyways. I want to continue it even after my hours of service are complete. It is so much fun, especially since I love animals a lot! I love dogs and cats. There is no way that I could choose one over the other because I love them both. When it comes to dogs, I will admit I am not a huge fan of small dogs, but I still love them anyways.     Volunteering there has given me an opportunity to socialize with people in our community and learn how to help manage a business (answering the phone, cleaning up and preparing kennels, etc). Aside from volunteering I also have been working out- mainly running and going on bike rides! I recently went on a bike ride to Fort Steilacoom park and it was such a bright and sunny day that I of course had to take some pictures. So below are some pictures from volunteering and my lovely bike ride. Enjoy and peace out!

Adorable 4 week old kittens that I got to cuddle with!

A week or so ago when I was last in at the the shelter this cute puppy was in one of the kennels in our washroom. I of course had to go over and hold it! Sooo adorable.

Chillin in the cat room with one of our kittens available for adoption.

I love the natural light leak in this photo!

The bike path that I was on. I loved just riding through all of he trees while having a view of the lake. (lake picture below)

Gorgeous shot of the lake at Fort Steilacoom. While you may not be able to swim in it, it still makes for a pretty view on a bike ride.

Super duper happy!

Hello y'all! I hope all is well with you. I know all is well with me for sure because first of all, I got my license!! Finally! I passed with an 82 which I think is fabulous. Those tests aren't easy and it really depends on the driving instructor you get as to what your score will end up being. I am so happy that this is out of the way. Now I can drive by myself. Yesss. :)
Additionally, I was able to go shopping and get some sushi (yummy!) yesterday with my best friend, Madi. We had such a fun time! We went thrifting first. I didn't find anything this time around, but she was able to score some stuff. Then we headed over to the mall and went to Forever 21, H&M, and a few other stores. I was in need of some cute new clothes so I'm glad we could go yesterday. :)
Lastly, my family is coming in this week! My sister and her kids are coming in today and my brother and his kids are coming in tomorrow! I can't wait to see them! I love being an aunt so much...I always have so much fun. :) Also, my uncle and cousins who I haven't seen in years are stopping by on Thursday! This week has just been wonderful so far. I hope your week has been wonderful as well! TTFN.

Love, Kellyn xoxo

I got the top from H&M and the sweater from Forever 21. I looove this outfit (especially my lime green Saltwater Sandals. :)

I got all 3 of these sweaters from Forever 21! I love my Hello Kitty sweatshirt so much. <3

I got both of these fun, floral tops from Forever 21. I love that store and I LOVE anything with a floral print. :)

The Head and the Heart concert in September!!

Good evening y'all! I hope you've been having a fabulous week so far. I have some pretty sweet news! So, I was surfing the web (in search of a concert to go to) and I was able to discover that The Head and the Heart are coming to Seattle in September! I of course had to tell my best friend and it's now official! We're going (with her dad as our lovely chaperone)! :D All we have to do now is purchase our tickets (which I sort of need money for...hehehe. I'll have some soon enough). The last concert we went to together was super awesome! It was a concert for the southern rock band, Needtobreathe! They are amazing! I'm a pretty huge fan. You should check them out if you get a chance. :) I'm pretty bummed because they're coming again in October and on my birthday!! But I'm unable to go. :( It makes me so sad. Anyways I just had to share my rather exciting news! I love concerts! Have you been to any good concerts lately? What are your favorite musical artists? Please share!

Good night!
Love, Kellyn xoxo

This is one of my favorite songs from The Head and the Heart (the band we're seeing in a few months)!

Me and my best friend (Madi) chilling at the Needtobreathe concert! Definitely want to see them again!

Yeah, he's the bass player of Needtobreathe and I kinda sorta have a crush on him. :) I kinda sorta had to share. ;)

This is one of my favorite songs from Needtobreathe (although I have many, this is just one).

College visits...and Napolean Dynamite!

Good morning you all! I hope your Sunday has been going swell so far. :) I few days ago I got back from a college trip in Utah/Idaho with my dad. We visited Utah State University, Brigham Young University-Idaho, and Brigham Young University. The trip was really helpful in allowing me to make some decisions about what college I want to go to. I'm really interested in BYU or Utah State, those are my top two. It's just soo stressful deciding, but I know that when the time comes I'll go to a college that I want to go to and that is best for me. It was such wonderful weather down there when we were visiting. It was hot and mainly stayed in the 90's! I loved it. Coming from Washington State...it tends to stay not too warm here and rains a lot. It was a nice change! On this trip my dad and I also got to visit Temple Square in Salt Lake City! It was so gorgeous there and we came on the perfect day-it was super sunny and not a cloud was in the sky! I truly love Utah. I love the weather and the various things to see and do there. I also have some wonderful friends already in Utah and I wish I could've seen them this time around. Luckily I'll be back in October. :) While we were driving to Idaho we got to travel through Preston, Idaho (where Napolean Dynamite was filmed and the town that Napolean lived in!) so, we of course saved some of our "tots" from lunch and took a picture by the sign entering the town. :) I'll post pictures from the trip down below! All in all it was a super great trip and I can't wait to go back in October! I hope you all have a great rest of your day. :)

With love,
Kellyn xoxo

The gorgeous SLC temple!

Sitting in front of the LDS Conference Center!

I loved this little waterfall! So pretty! It's part of the LDS Conference Center.

Standing by the Preston, ID sign with my tots. ;) (Excuse the ugly sore spot above my eyebrow. It's the only part of the picture I dislike).

Sign away with me...

Ever since 7th grade I had been taking Japanese as my required school language. However, it was extremely difficult for me and that led me to the decision to quit taking Japanese my senior year and go with a language that I actually enjoyed, which is sign language. I was first introduced to sign language when my friend and I decided to make a sign language music video and we self-taught ourselves via youtube videos (I'll post the video down below). Even though I had never taken a sign language class before making the video (neither had my friend), it didn't take me very long to learn how to sign the song we chose for our music video. So, after that video, I decided I wanted to drop Japanese and take sign language as my language of choice. My school doesn't offer it so during the summer and whenever I get free time during my senior year I'm going to be enrolled in some online sign language courses. Ideally, I would like to, someday, become a deaf elementary school teacher/regular elementary school teacher. So, I want to do everything I can to prepare myself for my future since I would like to, of course, continue sign language in college. I am so excited and today I completed my first lesson in the beginning ASL course of the online ASL class I'm enrolled in. I'm super duper happy I could finally discover a language that I actually want to learn and enjoy learning. If any of you reading my blog are fluent in sign language or know anyone that is, post below and let me know how you/they have enjoyed it and how long you/ they have been taking it, etc. I want to know! It's always neat to find other people who enjoy sign language too! I hope you all have an awesome Monday!

Love,
Kellyn xoxo
My friend and I performing Blackbird by The Beatles in sign language (FYI...the video isn't really 8 minutes long, but for some reason when I posted it it made the video continue on for much longer. :( The video stops at 2:12!)
